Chef Bryan Voltaggio is the executive chef and owner of VOLT and Family Meal, both located in Frederick, Maryland where he was born and currently resides. Bryan is also the chef and partner — along with his brother, Chef Michael Voltaggio — in fast-casual STRFSH serving sustainable fish sandwiches in Santa Monica, CA , as well as Voltaggio Brothers Steak House at MGM National Harbor. Estuary is the duo's third venture together.
After serving as sous chef and executive chef at two regional hotel restaurants, Bryan enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, NY. Upon graduating, he staged at Aureole, in New York City, where he met his mentor, Chef Charlie Palmer. Following a stint at Michelin three-star Pic restaurant in Valence, France, Bryan reunited with Palmer as executive chef at Charlie Palmer Steak in Washington, DC before opening VOLT in 2008.
Bryan is a James Beard Foundation Award finalist and was a finalist on Top Chef Season 6 and Top Chef Masters Season 5. He has authored two cookbooks: HOME and VOLT.ink, the second of which he partnered on with his brother, Michael. A passionate philanthropist, Bryan has raised over three quarters of a million dollars for Share Our Strength, which fights against childhood hunger.
